Tape Deck Adds HDV to Lineup
In order to keep up with ever expanding needs of our
clients we have added a Sony HVR-M25U tape deck to our studio. This
deck allows us to use mini-DV, DVCam and now HDV tape formats in
our productions. The machine can down convert HD formats to SD if
needed.
We are looking forward to moving into HD production
now that we have made this upgrade along with the software updates
mentioned in the adjoining column.

SSS Updates Software
Sight & Sound Services is always trying to keep
up with the latest in tools, with that in mind we have had two major
software upgrades recently. Both of our main editing packages have
been upgraded to now take advantage of the latest in non-linear
video editing. Our Newtek VT system has been upgraded to Version
5 and our Avid system has been upgraded to Xpress Pro 5.7. Both
upgrades allow us to produce video in High Definition.
The VT5 update gives us better control of color correction,
multiple resolutions and lots of other upgrades.
The Avid upgrade gives us "Multicam" capabilities
to make editing multiple camera shoots more quickly.

Series for Hoodland Fire District
Hoodland
Fire District was recently awarded a large grant to support
public education. One of the projects paid for by the grant was
to produce a series of videos to be shown on a kiosk at public events,
as well as sent to local residents to educate them on a variety
of topics.
Two of the videos are now available to watch on our
portfolio page.
